Launch – The Commission on 2020 Public Services:a progress report, 11 Oct 2011 8.30am

Invitation only event

2020PSH is publishing a Progress Report by the Commission on 2020 Public Services.  From its launch in December 2008 until its concluding report in September 2010, the Commission looked critically and innovatively at the long term challenges facing public services.  Commissioners from across the political and professional spectrum came together  to lay the basis for a new consensus on public service reform.  In its final report, the Commission set out its vision for 2020 public services, based on the concept of ‘social productivity’.

One year on from that report, the Commission has reconvened to look at the state of reform.  Its report looks in particular at seven areas: ‘Able to act’, ‘Serious about the big issues’, ‘Localism and leadership’, ‘Putting citizens at the centre’, ‘Intervening early and including the marginalised’, ‘Strategic coherence’ and ‘Missed Opportunities’.

Leading discussion of these issues at the roundtable will be:

  • Sir Andrew Foster (Commission Chair) – Deputy Chairman, Royal Bank of Canada; formerly Chief Executive, Audit Commission and Deputy Chief Executive, NHS
  • Bridget Rosewell – Chair and co-founder, Volterra Consulting, Chief Economic Advisor, GLA
  • Matthew Taylor – Chief Executive, RSA
  • Dame Clare Tickell – Chief Executive, Action for Children

This is an important moment to take stock and look forward and we look forward to the discussion.

Please contact us if you are interested in attending.
